Animal Print(s)

Check out the artwork of Jason LaFerrera, who repurposes historic maps to create unique prints inspired by nature.  I like LaFerrera's collages that reference a particular state, like the California Grizzly Bear and the Virginia Red Fox, and I especially appreciate that proceeds from sales of the Japanese Crane will be donated to the Red Cross to support the Japan earthquake/tsunami fund.  Here's to hoping that my home stat (or one of my adopted states) gets its own print soon; in the meantime, I'll claim the Doe and Fawn.

Black & White

I am loving the crisp black and white fabric and furniture that are the focal point of this breakfast nook; even better are the bookshelves on the back wall and the bright pops of color in the artwork to on the left.  My only question is how long it would take me to spill something on those white chairs!  Also, I love the light fixture, but I don't know that my symmetry-loving eye could handle an off-center chandelier.  What say you?

Juiced Up

I've been feeling a bit uninspired lately, hence the dearth of blog posts.  I'm not sure if it's because I had the SADs or if it's just because I've been really, really busy (i.e., not much time to play around on my favorite blogs), but with all of the colorful and spring-y deliciousness on the interwebs lately, I'm coming back around.

For example, did you know that Kate Spade launched a redesigned website earlier this month?  This year is Kate's year of living colorfully and the site is currently decked out in bright and happy lemon yellow.  Not only is the site a bit easier to maneuver, but it's more visually appealing.  If you're really looking for some inspiration, check out the Kate Spade Tumblr.

Below is a sampling of the juiciness that's currently available.  Good day!
